Car Periodic Technical Inspection (2018)

GeoWel, in partnership with the Alliance for Road Safety and the financial support from the East-West Management Institute (EWMI), implemented the first stage of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Periodical Technical Inspection (PTI) Reform in September-October of 2018.

The research included analysis of the regulations and international practice, interviews with experts and government representatives, focus groups of drivers and employees, a small survey of PTI users, and process observation at PTI sites.

The study analyzed the results of the PTI reforms, highlighted the existing gaps, and provided recommendations for further improvement.
