    Dr George Welton

    George Welton is the Executive Director of GeoWel Research, which he founded in 2009. George has been living and working in Georgia and the region since 2004 and in that time, has conducted over 100 research projects with GeoWel and as an individual consultant, working for all the major development players in Georgia, the government and private sector. He has written and published extensively on regional economics, politics and geopolitics as well as on public policy issues including, education, economic and development policy, trade policy, rural development, public finance management, public infrastructure and governance planning. He has also worked extensively looking at vulnerable communities and under-represented groups including work on gender issues, poverty, disability policy and ethnic minorities.

    George is also the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, the largest international business association in Georgia. He has a PhD in International Relations from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and lives in Georgia with his wife and three children.

     

    Tamar Burduli

    Tamar Burduli is a Project Manager and Senior Researcher of GeoWel Research, which she joined in 2014. Tamar has over ten years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research including but not limited to baseline research, needs assessment and Monitoring & Evaluation on various topics of public policy, governance and economy, including but not limited to regional development, agriculture, tourism, circular migration, secondary and vocational education, employment, gender, special education needs and disabilities, youth and children, ethnic minorities and other vulnerable and minority groups. Tamar is involved in all levels of research, including research design, data collection, data analysis and report writing. Tamar has extensive experience in a wide range of data collection methods including desk research, surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. Tamar holds a master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies from College of Europe in Warsaw, Poland and a master’s degree in Social Psychology from Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia.

    Mikheil Svanidze is a Project Manager and Senior Researcher at GeoWel.
