In 2007 Dr Welton worked for Sun Capital Partners in Georgia, a large UK-based venture capital firm, undertaking investment analysis. The work included a range of due diligence activities, including business planning, market and feasibility analysis and legal investigation. The research looked at property, infrastructure, transportation, mining and utilities.
