Georgia Country Overview for CARE Strategic Planning (2007)
This report presented an overview of the Georgian economy, state of governance and sociopolitical climate in December 2007 in advance of a Strategic Planning Mid-Term Review for CARE International in Caucasus. It provided an introduction to the Georgian environment for those unfamiliar with the region and an up-to-date summary of developmental indicator for the strategic review.
The report focuses on material that is pertinent for development so in economy it looked at the reasons for persistent poverty and unemployment, the difficulties that remain in service delivery outside of urban centers and the developmental impact of a continued poor relationship with Russia.
